(The opinion expressed in this blog is based on personal experience and knowledge of the author who is in education sector since last 13 years)
Before independence of India only 5% people* were working as employee and rest were self employed. After 70 years of independence 95% people* are doing job and 5% are self-employed* or Entrepreneur.
Since childhood kids has been taught to dream of becoming employee in big company or govt with high salary. This trend makes kids to dream about getting Degree with good percentile which will enable him/her to get the dream job. Sometimes knowledge which is being taught in the subject becomes irrelevant and emphasis shifted on getting good marks. For that students get attracted towards coaching institutes where they learn the art to score good marks. I have met more than 200 recruiters who shared their experience which is almost same for all which are as follows:-
- Lack effective communication with the seniors and subordinates
- Don’t know the basics and concept of the subjects
- Lack practical knowledge of subjects in which they scored good marks
- Rejects the offer letter if they have to shift from the home town
- Fail to work hard and get insight of job
Apart from that today I see lot of youth who are very competent but are frustrated without any job matching their caliber. They all are waiting for some good opportunity which will strike some day but never dare to start their own venture in the field in which they are more passionate. For some fortunate one that day comes and for majority of them it never comes which make them to end up with the frustration and selecting job which is in field other than in which they got the degree.
The nation will transform on the day when we teach our kids to dream to become self employed, take risk start own business and become employment provider instead of job seeker. Make kids to think creatively, makes thousands of mistakes, develop the ability to see the problems and work on finding innovative solution for the same.
Initially lot of such budding entrepreneurs may lack basic idea and information for starting their own start up.
To help them during that stage I have committed with myself to mentor and support over 1000 young budding entrepreneur pan india over next 15 years to make them successful businessman.
I feel in the same way if lot of my friends who have experience and capability to mentor, I request them to come forward and support new budding entrepreneurs in and around their vicinity and help in reality “Building the Nation” and “Make in INDIA”.
